About Linie 51
Welcome to the most impressive experience you’ve ever had in a simulation! The legendary line 51 of the Berlin tram will take you across a total of 78 stops from the tram depot Niederschönhausen via Pankow and Prenzlauer Berg to Berlin-Mitte. The Berlin of the twenties was faithfully reproduced. The Museum Island is also to be found, as well as the ‘old’ Humboldt University, the large station Friedrichstrasse, the Berliner Ensemble and the elevated railway of the former subway line A.
The new TML graphics system: The completely new developed TML graphics system allows an incredibly highly detailed design of landscapes and buildings. For the first time, light, reflections and gloss can be displayed realistically. Career Mode: The Career Mode puts an end to boring driving from A to B. The challenge is to master the challenging tasks in the different parts of the city and gradually make the entire route and all the vehicles available. The extra scenes created for the tasks, such as construction sites and major fires are found only within the task. As a result, you are no longer ‘only’ a observer, you are in the middle of it!
Gramophone: James Kok and his dance orchestra frame your rides through Berlin with the real ‘shellac sound’ of the twenties. Real mode: simulates the wear of the vehicles. As in ‘real life’, this can lead to significant restrictions on driving characteristics and even failure. Excerpt from the rolling stock ATW 180, TW 5274, S2, AG 061 On the basis of historical documents and picture collections, this route was largely authentically implemented. The result is a reconstruction of the typical flair of old Berlin. Through the further improvement of the lighting system, the mood of the surroundings created by the different lighting conditions could be implemented particularly impressively. Reflections on glass surfaces and gloss on metal surfaces create an incredible realistic atmosphere in this program.
The route offers the typical contrasts of a big city. On the one hand elegant town houses, churches and parks that invite you to stroll, as well as the imperial pompous Museum Island with its magnificent buildings. On the other hand, also winding side streets with their densely packed tenements and confusing backyards, to factories whose chimneys polluted the air. The program has the start program known from “Berlin Subway”. This allows the user to determine vehicles and weather conditions for the individual tasks.
